Meet up with the Central VA Emerging Professionals in Charlottesville at the Rivanna Area Queer Community Center!
Topic: Designing for the Queer Community + Pro bono Leadership Experience
Founded in late 2024, the Rivanna Area Queer Center (RAQC – “Rack”) represents a grassroots effort to establish a loving, inclusive home & safe-space for the Charlottesville area’s LGTBQ+ community. Come see the RAQC and hear local architect, Blake Walker (she/her), speak about the organization’s development, construction, & how an architect’s capacities can extend beyond the realm of designing physical infrastructure. The brief presentation and walk-through will be followed by an informal happy hour with refreshments including soft drinks, wine, and beer.
The RAQC is located at 801 West Main St., Suite 105, Charlottesville, VA 22903 with the ground floor, accessible entrance facing West Main St.
Limited parking is available along West Main St., at nearby Jenkins Park, and in the paid Amtrak lot. Please carpool if possible.
