Position overview:
The desired candidate will be actively involved in the development of architectural projects from conception through construction documents of various project typologies. The candidate must demonstrate strong design and technical skills and an ability to contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a full-time, in-person role. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree from an NAAB-accredited program 

  • Portfolio illustrating strong design creativity and technical knowledge

  • Proficiency in Revit is required. Proficiency and experience in 3D modeling, rendering, and presentation development using software such as Sketchup, Lumion,  and Adobe Suite.

  • Ability to work well within a dynamic team environment 

  • Strong communication skills, work ethic, ability to self-manage, and work independently 

  • Professional licensure preferred but not required

  • Desire to grow into a long-term role at the firm

Professional experience should include a minimum of 5 years working in the architectural profession or other design field (engineering or construction) in a BIM support role. This position offers the opportunity to work with multiple teams across numerous building typologies to support the use of office BIM standards and best practices for modeling and documentation. We are looking for individuals with exceptional Revit skills, attention to detail, and a passion for technology in design. This position is an integral role within our Charlottesville studio. 

Job Summary:
The Project Architect works as a collaborative team member under the guidance and direction of studio PMs. Competencies in all conventional aspects of architecture, ideally experienced in multi-family residential project types and K-12. Performs work in all phases of projects from concept design to close out, requiring independent judgement in evaluation, selection and adaptation of standard techniques, and procedures. Consistent work with digital design tools; Revit. Site and field work in CA phases will be included in normal scope of responsibilities. Independently solves problems encountered while also receiving technical guidance on unusual or complex issues.

Required Qualifications:
Architectural Degree from accredited program License preferred or very near to licensure, 5+ years of experience in professional architecture firm environment, experience with multi-family and K-12 project types. Revit proficiency, and online document management software like Procore, Newforma, etc. Familiarity with Green Communities, Virginia Housing/LIHTC preferred.  Collaborative team player with Construction Administration experience required. Ability to interact with clients and consultants.
