Starting Location: 20 South New Street, Staunton, VA

Lobby of the R.R. Smith Center for History & Art

Spend two hours strolling through four of Staunton's seven historic districts as HSF volunteer guides share the city's evolution from a frontier settlement to a thriving 19th-century commercial center. Along the way, you'll experience the beautifully preserved architecture that makes Staunton such a remarkable place to explore.

"Nearly every phase of the region's 19th and 20th century stylistic development is to be found on the narrow streets, from Federal-period shops to the Beaux Arts National Valley Bank."
