Allied membership is open to engineers, landscape architects, planners, artists, those in government, journalism, education, manufacturing, industry, and other fields associated with architecture. Individuals must not be eligible for membership in the Institute.

AIA Central Virginia serves over 200 members who work and learn in 90+ local firms and businesses and 2 universities in the counties surrounding Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, and Staunton.
